What is myCORE?
myCORE is the consumer brand of PREP Advanced Insights. For over 40 years, PREP has developed an assessment, tools, and network of professionals for businesses, coaches, and organizations worldwide. myCORE brings those same scientifically validated insights directly to you, giving individuals access to the tools that over 5,000 companies trust.
How long does the assessment take?
About 5 minutes. The PREP assessment uses simple, single-word choices for you to answer with your first impression choice. Research shows simpler, shorter assessments produce better data, because fatigue and confusion degrades quality in longer ones.
Any pointers for taking the survey?
Read the instructions, then go with your first impression: pick your answer and keep moving. Your first reaction is the most accurate; studying each word won’t result in better accuracy.
Only you can answer for you. Take it yourself. If a partner or friend fills it out for you, the results will not be helpful.
Nothing is timed, and there are no wrong answers. If you’re taking more than five minutes, that’s ok; remember that your first impression is best. There is no way to fail.
Use the language you are most comfortable with. myCORE was originally developed in English, but understanding each word clearly matters more. If your language is available, use it. If a word is unclear, go with your gut instead of getting stuck.
How hard is it? Can I Fail?
You can’t fail. There are no right or wrong answers. The assessment measures your natural style: who you are when you’re most yourself. It’s a mirror, not a test. Your profile is just another lens for understanding how you operate, not a judgment about who you are or should be.
What does it actually measure?
The PREP assessment measures four core personality dimensions, CONTROLLING, OUTGOING, RELAXED, and EXACTING, as well as each traits countertrait on a continuum rather than as types. If you work with a coach and professional level reports, the continuum and other dynamics are shown.
Are PREP and myCORE startups?

Which report should I start with?
myCORE Complete bundles all three reports for less than myCOREself and myCOREcareer bought separately. myCOREself goes deeper than myCOREintro. All are based on the same 5-minute assessment; you never retake the survey.
Can you help me connect with a coach?
Yes. Our certified coaches have access to numerous additional reports based on the assessment you already took. Their expertise will help you learn even more about your work self. Select Find A Coach on the main page to get started.
What is your motivation behind allowing people to start at no cost?
Our assessment is based on research and surveys conducted over a span of four decades, but the work is never done. Every level of participation helps us improve the assessment as we continually administer surveys to confirm the accuracy of our tool and better understand the factors across our world. You are helping us and in exchange we offer an introduction into what we do and transparent pricing on everything else we offer.
Can I get a refund?
We want every report to provide valuable insight. If something goes wrong, a duplicate charge, a technical problem, a report you never received, contact us within 14 days and we’ll make it right.
VALIDATION
Is this Validated?
Yes. The PREP assessment has been cross-validated against Cattell 16-PF, Myers-Briggs, and Big Five instruments, with data from 400,000+ individuals over 40 years and a test-retest reliability of 91%. It’s an industry leader, and it keeps getting better.
What if I was stressed or tired when I took it?
Your core traits generally read through mood and energy. Retaking makes sense after a major life change, a new role, a big transition. Your reports stay in your account either way.
Can I game it to get the result I want?
You could try, but the only person you’d be hiding from is you. Answer honestly and with your first impression; that gets you the most useful results.
Was this made with AI?
No. Your results are not influenced by AI and the assessment was not created with AI. The assessment was first introduced in 1984 and has been refined through thousands of real-world scenarios, industry-leading feedback, and validated against scientifically proven stress and resiliency scales.
PRIVACY AND SUPPORT
Is my information private?
Yes. Your privacy is protected under EU-aligned policies. Your data is never sold, your individual responses are never identified in research, and your profile belongs to you.
Do I need a coach to use myCORE?
No. Every myCORE report stands on its own. When you want to go further, book a session with a certified PREP coach. Coaches have access to the complete data graph and can unlock professional level reports and resiliency charts: Character Profiles, Change Readiness analysis, Pair Match comparisons, and Executive Job Matches.
Can my team or company use myCORE?

Do you make my data accessible to outside parties?
No. We do not sell your data and we do not make your data available to any Large Language Models (AI). Any demographic data provided is fully anonymized before being used for research and internal model refinement only.
